Dance

What is it to be a Dancer at Marriotts?

In Dance, our intent is to engage and energise the students to want to perform and hone their skills to a professional standard, enjoying their learning and learning to work collaboratively with others to shape and rehearse their work with clear targets in order to improve their self-image.

Students will learn both the creative and technical side of Dance, including the language, in order to access the next stage of their education and/or extra-curricular studies.  Our curriculum builds on the skills that students bring from other subjects and also includes a rich opportunity for individuals to get involved in extra curricular activities.

Dance aim to provide students with a life-long love affair with the arts and encourage students to explore the wider world of performance work and the culture that surrounds it.  Throughout the key stages and courses, students will also gain the transferrable vocational skills of confidence, teamwork, communication skills, time management, self management, self discipline and creativity which will allow them to flourish in the competitive world of work.
